In Memoriam

Special Forces personnel are by the very nature of their work regularly exposed to danger and the ever present possibility of losing a comrade in battle.

We honour Operators, Support Personnel and their loved ones on these pages.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them

For The Fallen (1914)

The Operator's Prayer

This the official prayer of the operators of the South African Special Forces:

Heavenly Father,
King of the world,
I know that all things
are in Your hands,
whatever happens to me.

As a Special Forces Operator,
I am prepared to suffer hardship.
I am ready to endure danger,
unrest, pain and hurt.
I am going to be hungry and thirsty.
I am prepared to face the enemy
fearlessly, Lord.
I am weak.
I cannot depend
upon my own strength;
I do not want to trust
in my own abilities.

Lord, my God,
let me trust in You alone.
And, above all,
faith
to do my work fearlessly
- always.

Amen
